Consent Form: Puzzles and Decision-Making (3 SRSRP Credits)
What is this project studying?
Business professionals must solve novel problems each day. We are studying how different ways of thinking are used to solve novel and unexpected problems.
What would I do if I participate?
You would complete two types of tasks:
Section 1 >
1 Credit
(SRSRP) > Puzzle Game and Logic Problems
Section 2 >
2 Credits
(SRSRP) > Decision-Making Questions (1 of 2)
Three Card Game
Decision-Making Questions (2 of 2)
Debriefing Questions
How do I earn all 3 SRSRP Credits?
To qualify for Section 2 of the study, pay attention to the instructions in Section 1

What would I learn?
You will become familiar with problems requiring thinking logically, including problems that require reasoning. There are no direct benefits to participating in this study.
How long will it take?
Approximately 20 minutes for Section 1 and 40 minutes for Section 2.
Total time is approximately 60 minutes.
How do I receive SRSRP Credit?
At the end of the exercise, you will be invited to enter your name, which is forwarded to the RSRP Administrator.
Is my privacy protected?
Yes. Your responses are anonymous and NOT associated with your name.
Participation provides no personal risk.
Can I quit if I become uncomfortable?
Yes. Dr. Viator and Texas Tech University’s Institutional Review Board have reviewed this research project and think you can participate comfortably. However, you may quit at any time. You may skip questions you are not comforable with and receive credit for participating.
Participating is your choice.
